My First Cake
Well, not the first cake I ever made, as I’ve loved baking since I was little, but the first cake I’ve made without a recipe… It was a bit scary, but also very exciting to mix the ingredients and hope for the best. Proud to say it worked, as there wasn’t much left of it the next day.
Mixing it all up.
Adding some apple slices and pearl sugar.
Moist and delicious!!
Apple Sour Cream Bundt Cake
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup bran flakes (had oatmeal in mind, but not in the house)
- 1 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 4 small organic Ambrosia apples (or whatever you have available), cored and peeled. Chop 3 and slice 1.
- 2 Tablespoons chopped almonds
- pearl sugar
Mix the wet ingredients with the dry, add apples and almonds and pour into buttered bundt pan. Add apple slices and a sprinkle of pearl sugar.
Bake at 350F for 50 minutes or until cake tester comes out clean. Invert on wire rack and let cool slightly before digging in.
